Flawed design January 6, 2009 My husband bought this KitchenAid for me for Christmas after reading a Cooks Illustrated review. After one use and one wash in the dishwasher, the bowl (which is double-lined) took on water and food particles between the walls of the bowl. In addition to the sanitary issues, the obvious aesthetic issues are concerns. The double-walled bowl is a good feature but the walls are not properly sealed at the handle which allows food and water to enter between the walls. We will be returning this defective unit.
Great food processor with a couple of flaws December 31, 2008 I picked up this KitchnAid food processor from a recommendation from Americas Test Kitchen. The food processor works great mostly; has a couple things I don't like about it. Firstly there is an awesome ATK recipe for pound cake that is mixed in the food processor. The problem is the batter comes over the middle attachment. So if I were to take the bowl off of the motor housing, the batter would spill everywhere. My husband has to come and tip the entire food processor so I can scrape the batter into the pan. Another issue is if using one of the blade attachments, when done processing, the blade is a struggle to get off. And the blade needs to come off to get the bowl off. Lastly, after owning the food processor for 360 days (usually daily use in winter, and a couple times a week in summer) the handle on the bowl broke. Replacement bowl $45.00.
Would I buy this machine again? Definitely yes.
Kitchen Aid 12 cup food processor December 29, 2008 This has been a wonderful additon to my kitchen. It is a delite to use. I don't know how I got along without it. Seller was great, very prompt shipping. Very pleased overall.
A Great Food Processor December 26, 2008 A significant motivation for purchasing the Kitchen Aid KFP750OB food processor was the price. The black body model was discounted significantly. In Consumer Reports, the Kitchen Aid KFP750OB was the top rated brand/model.
The reviews and best seller ranking on the Amazon site, were an additional confirmation of our interest.
We replaced a 20 year old Braun food processor. Over the life of the Braun unit we replaced the bowl once and the slicing blade stem twice.
The Kitchen Aid KFP750OB has a much more powerful motor than our former machine which performs tasks easily without strain.
And the stem for the slicing blade is substantially more robust than the Braun. The accessories come in a tidy plastic box that holds all the unused components and keep them organized. Cleanup is generally easy, but I don't recommend putting in the dishwasher.
food processor December 26, 2008 product arrived in timely manner and in good condition. It was just as advertised. The food processor works great.
